
Annetta Blanche “Cookie” Simmons Cox, age 74 of Pikeville, died February 28, 2022. Cookie was a member of Red Bank Church of Christ. She loved her family, playing with the grandkids, cooking, crafting, and playing Bingo.
Preceding Cookie in death was her husband, Waymon Leon Cox; parents, Hubert and Mae Mooneyham Simmons; brothers, Lewis D. and Randall Simmons; sisters, Huberta Therrell and Neva Hale; nephews, Tony and Dan Simmons; great-grandson, Charles Junior Heard.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her daughter, DeAnna (Billy) Boston; son, Waymon Lee (Gayla) Cox; grandchildren, Amanda Johnson, Cindra (Brandon) Dye, Breanna (Kevin) Sadowski, Raquel (Jonathan) Cooley, Chasity (B J) Heard, Christin (Hunter) Hale, Hunter (Katie) Cox, Daylie (Bradley) Warfield, Shaylie Needham; fifteen great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Hatfield; several nieces, nephews, cousins, her Summitt View family; and a host of friends.
A celebration of life will be 2:00 pm CST Thursday, March 3, 2022 in the Pikeville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mark Lusk officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00-8:00pm CST Wednesday, March 2, 2022 and 10:00 am until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
