
Bratch Wilson Swafford, Sr. age 94 of Pikeville, died Tuesday, September 8, 2020 with family by his side. Bratch served in the United States Army and later opened his own Barber Shop and operated it for over twenty-six years. He loved golf, enjoyed gardening, coon hunting, camping, and baseball.
Preceding Bratch in death was his wife of sixty-seven years LaVerne Welch Swafford; parents, Sidney Clint and Mary Elizabeth Sullivan Swafford; brothers, John Paul, Henry, and Hollis Swafford; sisters, Virginia Swafford, Shelby Jean Carroll, and Dorothy Holloway; sister-in-law, Dorothy Jean Swafford; niece, Sheri Pendergrass.
Survivors include his children, Carolyn Holloway, Bratch Wilson “Bubba” (Lehron) Swafford, Jr., and Jerry (Wilma) Swafford, all of Pikeville; brothers, Max (Mary) Swafford, Dion (Linda) Swafford; sister, Theresa Hodges; grandchildren, Toni Hanna, Siobhan (Drew) McMurray, Wilson (Kayla) Swafford, Jazz (Joel) Holland, and Jerry “Bro” Swafford, Jr.; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; special friend, Leroy Troy; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
A celebration of life will be 11:00 am CDT Saturday, September 12, 2020 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. James Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 pm CDT Friday, September 11, 2020 at Pikeville Funeral Home.
