Obituary for Carol Grace Reed
Carol Grace Reed, of Pikeville, TN, Age 79, died on August 12 at Cumberland County Medical Center, Crossville, TN.
Carol was born on September 25, 1940, in Biddeford Maine, to parents James Gould Austin and Hilma Kirstead Williams. Carol attended Thornton Academy in Saco and The University of Maine in Westbrook. Carol then accepted a Music Teacher position in Livermore Falls, Maine.
In 1983 Carol married Pastor Charlie Reed in Waterville Me. For the next 37 years Carol and her husband were traveling Evangelists, sharing the Gospel through music, and the Word of God. They ministered in Churches, Salvation Army Centers, Senior Facilities and Nursing Homes across the United States, Canada, and in the Countries of Ecuador and Jamaica. Carol loved to share her faith through singing. She made friends easily and always kept in touch through her ministry of greeting cards. She loved to knit and made many gifts for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved Maine and visiting her family.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, James, and step- children, James, Merribeth, and Kerrilyn.
Carol is survived by her husband Pastor Charlie Reed of Pikeville, TN, her children Kim Nadeau (Richard) of Biddeford, ME, Karla Doyon (Mike) of Saco, ME, Kacie Charles (Lori) of Concord, CA, Greg Charles (Marci) of Chino Hills, CA, Carrie Morneau (Marco) of Biddeford, ME, and Carolyn Bourque of Biddeford, ME, Step Children, Richard (Vicky) Reed, of Grand Terrace, CA, Ronald (Susan) Reed, of Acton ME, Andrew (Janis) Reed, of Sanbornville, NH, Laurianne Rand, of Austin, TX, And Judilee and Janalee , 32 Grandchildren and 27 Great Grandchildren.
A Memorial service for Carol will be held at a later date due to COVID 19 restrictions at the Cold Springs Baptist Church of Pikeville, TN.
