
Edward Lee Brown, 47 of Oak Ridge, formerly of Pikeville went to be with the Lord on May 20, 2010 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. Edward, Eddie, or 'œRooster' as he was known to some had been undergoing treatments at the Fresenius Medical Care Oak Ridge Dialysis Clinic. He had just been recently invited to Washington D.C. back in March of this year to represent Kidney Transplant patients. He was also named a patient advocate and ambassador for Alabama, Tennessee, and Mississippi with the National Kidney Foundation. He was musically talented as well; Edward loved to compose gospel songs and to play the keyboard. He was a member and played the keyboard at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Edward was born July 30, 1962 in Pikeville to Clara and the late Arlon Brown. He was preceded in death by his brother, Franklin Brock; and his sister, Betty Brock. Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Clara Brown; sisters, Martha (Ali) Clark, of Oak Ridge and Dorothy (J.C.) Nix; brothers, Lonnie (Norma) Brock and James Brown; all three of Pikeville, his life partner of 17 years, Douglas LaChasse; Oak Ridge, TN., and a host of nieces and nephews; special aunts, Pauline Hood and Elizabeth Woods, and special friend, Nancy Costello and many others. A Home Going Celebration will be held on Sunday May 23, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. CST in the chapel of Pikeville Funeral Home with Rev. Beulah Stoudmire and Elder Irene McCowan. Burial will be in the Hensen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time on Sunday.
