Obituary for Emaline Gale Leigh

Emaline Gale Roberson Leigh, 84 of Pikeville passed away at an area nursing home on Saturday December 29th 2007. She was of the Methodist faith and she attended Pikeville United Methodist Church. Emaline graduated from Patton High School and then she enlisted into the Marine Corps for 2 years. After the Marines she attended Tennessee Polytechnic Institute where she received degrees in both Science and Physical Education. She then attended Peabody College where she received her Masters Degree in Education. She then moved to Illinois where she taught school for 12 years. She moved to Michigan where she met Glenn. They married and resided in Michigan until returning to Pikeville in 1984. Emaline loved to paint, and was a very talented artist. She also loved to cook and she had a wonderful sense of humor. Emaline was preceded in death by her husband; Glenn Leigh, sisters; Dorinda Starnes, Margaret Sue Record, Virginia Thomas, Anna Grace Irwin, and Elizabeth Roberson, and parents; John L. and Anna Swafford Roberson. She is survived by her brothers; Jim Sam Roberson, T.Y. (Julia) Roberson, and Maxey (Barb) Roberson, sisters; Mary Gene (Blake) Roberson, Helen (Bob) Lang, Nada (G.B.) Myers, and Johnnie Roberson.
