Obituary for James Lanae Cox

James “Jim” Lanae Cox, age 76 of Ten Mile and Soddy Daisy, went home to see the Lord January 10, 2022. Jim was being cared for at the Wyndridge Health and Rehab Center in Crossville, Tennessee. He was born May 5, 1945 and the first of nine children born to James Barton “JB” and Ethel Sorum Cox. Jimmy served in the United States Army, was a Vietnam Combat Veteran, who served his country participating in several “in country actions”. Jim was a retired construction worker with TVA Labor’s Local 846 in Chattanooga for twenty years. He was of the Baptist faith.
Preceding Jim in death was his wife, Lacey Cox; parents, James Barton (JB) and Ethel Sorum Cox; brother, Larry G. Cox; grandparents, Albert and Martha Sorum and Gertie Ables.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, James Edward “Eddie” (Cindy) Cox, Texas, Ricky Leon Cox, Pikeville; sisters, Wanda Carpenter (Robbie), Judy Parrot (Terry), Lynn Gann (Mike), Tammy White, Sandy Crouse (Harold), Gay Andrews; brothers, David and Allen Cox; five grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, special care givers, Clyde and Susie Johnson, Dunlap; and a host of friends.
A graveside service with military honors will be 11:00 am CST Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Winnie Cemetery with Bro. Cecil Hawkins officiating.
