Obituary for Jennell H. Brock

Minister Jennell Brock was born in Pikeville, TN on April 5, 1935. She was the daughter of the late James and Lola Bennett. She is one of six children, four boys-Edwin (Hazel) Bennett, Varnell (Pauline) Bennett, Hector (Dotie) Bennett, and Bobby Joe (Katherine) Bennett. She had one sister, Rev. Leola McClain (Ralph) McClain who preceded her in death on February 4, 2016.
She was married to the late James Albert Brock aka “Pete” who was the love of her life. From this union they became the parents of two children, Teresa Chapman and S. Denese Brock aka “Necey”. She loved her children with all her heart, soul, and body.
In 1956 she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio as a young woman. She attended Burress Temple during a convention shortly after relocating. During the convention, under the anointed preaching of Bishop Hunn, God pricked her heart and she totally surrendered to the will of God. She was saved, sanctified, and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost under the late Bishop James B. Burress. She also served under Bishop Frank Downs, where she was called into the ministry. She served as the President of the Missionaries of the local church and was appointed as the National President of the Missionaries by the Executive Board. She also worked as a Bible Study Teacher, Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Adult Choir.
She was a faithful and dedicated employee of the Christ Hospital for forty years until her retirement. Her knowledge and skill base mystified the doctors and other medical professionals.
Minister Brock graduated from the Church and Family Bible Institute under Pastor George Hale. She also graduated from the School of The Ministry under the teaching of Dr.

Osborne Richards D.D. She was ordained and received her minister’s license in 1993 from the Church of God M.P.G. of T.
Minister Brock’s words are: I Thank God for all He’s done for me. I love him with all my heart. I praise him because everything that happened to me that was good GOD DID IT!
She leaves to cherish her memory: her two daughters, Teresa (Timothy) Chapman and S. Denese Brock of Cincinnati, Ohio. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives, loving church family, many dear friends and a special friend, Glendora Cornist who was like a daughter.
A Celebration of Jennell’s life will be held at 12p.m. CST at the Pikeville City Cemetery on Saturday April the 23rd. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 9a.m.
