Joyce Elizabeth Maynor, age 85 of Pikeville, died Sunday, January 7, 2018. She worked in the factory as a textile operator, but in her last few years, served as a cook at Fort Bluff and loved it. She also enjoyed sewing and became a care giver for other residents in the nursing home where she resided. Joyce was a member of New Harmony Freewill Baptist Church.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, George Oliver Maynor; sons, Gary and Mickey Maynor; parents, Tilman and Maggie Ritchey Vaughn; brothers, Kenneth, Carl, and Ed Vaughn; grandchildren, Heath Davis and Labron Maynor.
Survivors include her daughters, Vickie (Daney) Angel, Union City, FaDonna (Terry) Hickey, Pikeville; sister, Arleda Vaughn Michaels, Pikeville; eleven grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
A celebration of life will be 2:00 p m CST Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in the Pikeville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Montanton and Bro. Darrell Evans officiating. Burial will be in Rigsby Cemetery. The family will receive friends 11:00 a m-2:00 p m Tuesday, January 9, 2018.
