
Marshel Greer Fields, age 83 of Pikeville, died December 5, 2020 with family by his side. He worked at Taft Youth Center as a Correctional Officer for twenty years and also worked in maintenance at Fall Creek Falls State Park for fourteen years. Marshel liked squirrel hunting, and loved anything pertaining to guns, including repairing them. Earlier in his life, he also repaired watches. He was a member of the Red Hill Church of Christ.
Preceding Marshel in death were his parents, Earnie Edward and Della Knight Fileds; son, Scotty Lynn Fields; sister, Cindy Mae Swafford; brothers, Georgie and Marlin Fields.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of fifty-eight years, Phyllis Marsh Fields; son, Bruce (Lucille) Fields; grandchildren, Jessica (Richard) Obitts, Wesley (Casey) Walker; great-grandchildren, Dakota Wooden, Mason Walker, Jake and Cain Obitts, Ever and Tripp Walker; great-great- grandchildren, Scarlett Wooden and Killian Walker; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
A celebration of life will be 1:00 pm CST Monday, December 7, 2020 at Pikeville Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Brown officiating. Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4:00-9:00pm CST Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Pikeville Funeral Home and ask for mask and social distancing.
