Obituary for Slater Brown Smith
Slater Brown Smith, age 84 of Pikeville, passed away August 30, 2022, at his home. Slater served in the United States Marine Corps, worked as an Electrical Lineman with TVA for forty-five years, and was a member of the IBEW # 175 for sixty-two years. He loved his family, grandkids, and the Lord. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching sports, especially the Tennessee Vols.
Preceding Slater in death was his wife of thirty-four years, Willann Smith; parents, Alex and Margie Hixson Smith; one sister, and one great-granddaughter.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his children, Joseph Bradley Smith, Bob (Stacie) Campbell, Cathy Browning; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins; and a host of friends.
A celebration of life will be 3:00pm CDT Thursday, September 1, 2022 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Danny Lee officiating. Burial will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends 11:00am until the service at the funeral home.
