Obituary for Solon L. Beach
Solon L. Beach, 87, of Fall Creek Falls, passed away October 26, 2009 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. Solon was born February 12, 1922, to the late Dewey and Minnie Walling Beach. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Avola Wheeler and Alova Binkley, and a brother Arvil Beach. Solon is survived by his sister Eva (Donald) Smith of Pikeville; his first wife of 42 years, Joanna Grove Beach, of Fall Creek Falls, and their children, Delynn Kinnard of Smithville, Marty (Emma) Beach of Chattanooga, Ann (Dean) Lee of Harrodsburg, KY, and Jan (Wayne) Mitchell of Sparta; grandchildren, Danny Cummings, Tracie (Keith) Ford, Kristy (Chad) Smith, Matt(Christy) Beach, Cason (Messina) Hayes, Julie (Doug) Smithhisler, Candice (Wes) Burtner, Cameron (Alicia) Mitchell, and thirteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his second wife of 22 years, Mary Standefer Beach, of Pikeville, step-children; Joel (Pam) Standefer of Pikeville, Robby (Kim) Standefer, Brad (Reta) Standefer of Chattanooga; step-grandchildren, Shea, Lance, Seth, Jeremy, Tyler, Jake and Nick Standefer. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and good friends. Mr. Beach was born in the Tip Top community of Bledsoe County and grew up in the hills of Fall Creek Falls. He was a beloved man and leader in his community. Solon was self employed most of his life as a logger, school bus driver, and established Beach Trucking Company. He loved and lived life to the fullest and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The family will receive friends from 2-7p.m. on Wednesday October 28, 2009 followed by a memorial service at 7 p.m. at Pikeville Funeral Home. A private family graveside service and burial will be at the Walling Cemetery on Thursday October 29.
