
Walter Clayton Edmons, age 91 of Pikeville, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023 at home with his loving family by his side. Clayton loved his family, enjoyed farming, riding horses, hauling cattle, liked to square dance, and talk to people wandering through for the 127 yard sale.
Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Jackson and Ella Lee Walker Edmons; sisters, Mary Dawes Swafford and Margie Lewis.
Clayton is survived by his loving wife of seventy years, Hazel Geanene Loyd Edmons; daughters, Rhonda (Steve) Simmons, and Cindy Simmons; grandchildren, Dalton (Kristin) Simmons, Amanda (Brent) Taylor, and Whitney (Justin) Jackson; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Kella, Aubree, Collyns, and Willis; sisters, Dolly (Bobby) Fields, Emma Loyd, Tommye Fields; several nieces; nephews, cousins; and a host of friends.
A celebration of life will be 2:00pm CDT Thursday, March 16, 2023 in the Pikeville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Donnie Lawson and Bro. Ronnie Holloway officiating. Burial will follow in Brushy Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00pm-7:00pm CDT Wednesday, March 15, 2023 and 10:00am until service time Thursday at Pikeville Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Brushy or McDowell Cemetery or the charity of your choice in Clayton’s honor.
