Obituary for Clyde Thompson
Clyde Thompson, 85 of Pikeville, died Monday, February 13, 2017. Clyde was a retired Aviation mechanic while serving thirty years in the United States Navy. At the time of his retirement he had a title of an E9 Master Chief Petty Officer. After moving to Pikeville Clyde became involved with the American Legion, DAV, Lions Club and VFW. Clyde was of the Baptist faith.
Preceding Clyde in death was his father William Thompson; mother, Sally Vance Thompson; daughters, Sherry Levo and Teri Small; twin brother Clifton Thompson; sister, Betty Craft.
Left to cherish Clyde’s memories is his wife, Joyce Lynn Hathaway Thompson; sons, Scott Thompson, Knoxville and Nick Thompson, Pikeville; daughters, Vicki (Steve) Greider, New York and Susan (William) McGovern, Mississippi; eleven grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 am CST Friday, February 17 at the Beach Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends 3-8 pm CST Thursday February 16.
